CICERO, Ind. — The transition from military service to civilian life is a battle known by too many to count. Even with all kinds of services available to ease the change, it can still be hard to find the right outlet and the right place to talk about traumas.

That’s where JarHead Racing comes in.

Nate Richardson spent nine years in the Marines and a few years in the Army before starting the off-road racing charity in 2024. He realized it could be a way for former servicemen and women, like himself, to get back to the high intensity and adrenaline rush of being on active duty.

“I think all veterans, and again depending on the job, combat, non-combat, whatever, it may be your brain does get rewired,” Richardson said.
