At 5:01 p.m. on Thursday, the National Weather Service released a coastal flood statement in effect until 8 p.m. for the Bronx and Suffolk County.
The weather service states, "Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline."
According to the weather service, "Do not drive through flooded roadways."
