EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) -- Halloween costumes, check! Candy bag, check! Halloween safety checklist, listen up. Dr. Dave Devemark, trauma and general surgeon for Del Sol Healthcare, has helpful tips on how to make safety a priority this weekend. He visited KTSM 9 to share his expertise.
Devemark explains that while getting the right costume may be imperative, it's important to get one that allows you to see and walk properly. If this is not the case, you or your child is at risk of falling and hitting your head or breaking a bone. Dr. Devemark says if you or your child falls and hits their head, then it's important to look for signs of a concussion.
According to the Mayo Clinic, these symptoms include: • Headache • Ringing in the ears. • Nausea • Vomiting • Fatigue or drowsiness
