FARGO — He's reported from historic fires, riots, floods and blizzards.

Longtime KFGO radio newsman Don Haney has seen and heard it all during his 52 years in radio in the region.

But this week, after decades behind the microphone, Haney is calling it a career.

Think of the thousands of times Haney has put on the headphones, clicked on the mic to bring the morning radio news to the region.

"There were no injuries but one person was rescued from a Fargo apartment fire," Haney said, reading from his script.

A trustworthy, credible voice, that has informed listeners for just over 50 years. Starting at Grafton's KXPO radio.

"I do remember thinking what can I do, I liked journalism but where can I go to work where I can make money and play music," Haney said of his first job in Grafton.
