PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A dramatic rescue by Phoenix Police of a woman who fell into a canal was captured on camera.
Newly released body cam video captures the dramatic rescue that happened in the early morning hours of October 14 th . The woman claimed she was sitting near the edge of the canal when she fell in.
Police said the woman’s phone was still able to call 911 despite her falling in the water.
Police used a retractable ladder to aid in their rescue efforts.
“Keep climbing, we’re going to get you,” one of the officers can be heard saying to the woman.
As the woman was trying to climb out, she can be heard crying and very emotional.
“Don’t let me go,” the woman says.
The Phoenix Fire Department said she was fortunate to make it out alright, but that isn’t always the case when
