MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota — Since opening in August, Arya Café has become a gathering spot for the community.
Co-founder and CEO Obsa Mohamed said, "This is more than a coffee shop. This is a different, unique blend of experiences and cultures and backgrounds that create Arya."
Mohamed and his co-founder, Munir Ahmed, opened Arya Café at the corner of 46th Street and Minnehaha Avenue — less than half a mile away from Minnehaha Falls
"It's a place where you can be home without being home," said Mohamed, who opened the shop in the neighborhood he grew up in.
Mohamed's love for coffee comes from his roots in Ethiopia.
Arya sources its coffee beans from Ethiopian farms through a partnership with UP Coffee Roasters in northeast Minneapolis. Rustica Bakery provides the pastries. They have also
