WILKES-BARRE — Through four incredibly tight sets, there was never an ounce of breathing room for Holy Redeemer.
But the Royals gutted it out, and held off a very game Lake-Lehman squad for the program’s third straight district championship.
Bella Boylan led the way with 18 kills, but it was a total team effort that propelled Holy Redeemer to a 3-1 victory over Lake-Lehman on Thursday night at Wilkes University.
The final line of set scores for Holy Redeemer was 25-22, 22-25, 25-22, 25-21 — four sets that featured several lead changes, very few extended runs and a big Royals comeback in the third set to finally seize some semblance of control over the match.
“Honestly, it was just locking in … we got off to a rough start, sometimes that’s how it goes with our team,” said junior Gillian
