ALBANY, NY (NEWS10) -- The Colonie football team is going to the Section 2 playoffs for the first time, securing the fourth and final spot in the postseason on the final day of the regular season on Thursday.
While Colonie lost to CBA in their regular season finale, Guilderland's win over Shaker forced a 3-team tie for the final playoff spot between the Wolf Pack, the Dutchmen and the Blue Bison. Colonie won the tie breaker using the quarter points tie breaker.
Guilderland beat Shaker 26-21 in a back-and-forth thriller to force the tie, while Colonie fell to CBA 12-0 in their game.
The Wolf Pack will face CBA again in the Class AA semifinals next week, with the winner of that game advancing to face the winner of Saratoga Springs and Shenendehowa in the Section 2 championship game.
