BEREA, Ohio -- Jermaine Crayton, vice president of the National Association of Buffalo Soldiers & Troopers Motorcycle Club of Cleveland, rode his Harley from his home in the Sandstone Ridge neighborhood of Berea to Charlotte, N.C. -- a distance of 542 miles -- to benefit Berea Community Outreach.
Family, friends and colleagues pledged so many dollars per mile to raise funds for Community Outreach’s Backpack Program.
The program provides school supplies and food for students who need meals over the weekend.
Crayton matched the pledges, then purchased two wagon loads of non-perishable food and classroom items for students in the Berea City School District.
The Backpack Program serves students at Grindstone Elementary School and Berea-Midpark High School.
