CHESAPEAKE — It was senior night at Indian River on Thursday, but it was a couple of King’s Fork seniors who stole the show as wide receiver Zy’Dar’Eyus Wynn and quarterback D’andre Artis-Boone helped the sixth-ranked Warriors upset the No. 4 Braves 21-14 in a Southeastern District showdown.
Wynn got things started early when he took the opening kickoff 85 yards on a sloppy and muddy field for a touchdown.
“I saw my front doing their job, and they opened a hole for me,” Wynn said about the touchdown run. “We’ve been practicing that all week, and we made it happen.”
But the Bulldogs wouldn’t score again until the fourth quarter.
Indian River, led by fabulous freshman Lord Malik Heru, would score as Heru scrambled to his right and then threw a 82-yard touchdown pass to a wide-open Ryan R
