A fundraiser set up for the family of a 'fantastic' Port Glasgow mum who died alongside her dog in a crash has raised more than £25k.

Amy Grey, 42, was crossing the eastbound carriageway of the A8 on Greenock Road with her dog Reggie on Wednesday, October 29, when they were struck by a Land Rover Sport at around 7.05am. Tragically, both died at the scene.

The driver was not injured, reports the Record. Following her passing, a GoFundMe page started by her sister Emma's husband, Daniel Hagen, has already raised over £25k.

Daniel thanked everyone for their kind words in a statement attached to the fundraiser. It read: "Hi everyone, my name is Daniel Hagen and my wife Emma lost her big sister Amy on Wednesday, 29th October.
