BENGALURU: The city’s flagship cleanliness initiative, ‘Kasa Suriyuva Habba’, launched Thursday, has turned into one of Bengaluru’s largest single-day anti-littering enforcement campaigns. As many as 218 cases were booked across 27 city divisions, and fines amounting to Rs 2.8 lakh were imposed on violators for dumping garbage in public spaces, failing to segregate waste, or illegally discarding debris. According to data from Bengaluru Solid Waste Management Ltd (BSWML), Padmanabhanagara, KR Pura, and Mahalakshmi Layout emerged as the top zones in terms of total fines collected — reflecting both stricter vigilance and persistent noncompliance.
