Intense - but speedy - rainfall continues to move away from us this morning. We picked up close to an inch (with a bit more in Southeaster Massachusetts) of needed rain. Sunshine may be poking out from time to time early on, but more clouds will swarm in for the afternoon and evening. The weather stays dry for trick-or-treating.

Our focus on this Halloween is the wind. As our storm moves into Northern New England, it will "bomb" out, intensifying rapidly and tightening the winds circulating around it. Contrary to popular thought, storms do undergo rapid cyclogenesis (bomb out) over land - not just over the ocean in a developing nor'easter. The implications of this will be stronger winds this afternoon and night. So
