The City of Charleston will start the Supplemental Loose Leaf Collection program on Monday.
To participate, residents can rake loose leaves to the edge of the street. Leaves will be collected once or twice during the season, weather permitting. Leaves should not be raked into alleyways.
When winter weather hits, leaf collection will pause while city crews use their trucks for snow removal. If winter weather is prolonged, leaf collection will end for the season.
For guaranteed weekly pickup of leaves, residents can bag their leaves and put them at the curb to be collected on their regular trash day. There's no limit to the number of bags.
Here's when leaves are collected in each neighborhood:
Monday-Tuesday : Kanawha City
Wednesday-Thursday : South Hills
Friday-Saturday : West S
