GRAND FORKS — UND brought Alabama to the brink a season ago.
The Crimson Tide visited the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center on Dec. 18, 2024, as Devils Lake grad and former North Dakota Mr. Basketball winner Grant Nelson made his triumphant return to his home state.
Another Mr. Basketball winner and North Dakota native, Treysen Eaglestaff, stole the show. He scored 40 points and nearly willed a stunning upset.
But Alabama survived the scare, pulling away in the final minutes for a 97-90 win.
This year, it's the Fighting Hawks' turn to enter a hostile environment. They'll kick off the 2025-26 regular season at Coleman Coliseum on Nov. 3 at 7 p.m.
This time around, the Tide know what UND is capable of.
"We know that they're obviously not going to overlook us now," senior guard Eli King said
