Whipping winds of up to 50 mph are expected to blow through Massachusetts on Friday and National Weather Service forecasters are urging trick-or-treaters to bundle up.

The winds come a day after a storm brought heavy rain throughout the state. Showers should continue to taper off throughout Friday morning, though some could linger over areas in higher elevations. Still, the state should dry out by Halloween night.

But forecasters say the main concern is those winds, with a wind advisory in place for the entire state from 2 p.m. to 5 a.m.

"Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects," forecasters wrote. “Tree limbs could be blown down and some power outages may result.”
