An Edinburgh road has been closed and buses diverted amid an ongoing incident on Friday afternoon.

Around 12pm on October 31, police raced to Queensferry Street and a cordon was put in place while investigations were carried out.

Officers and paramedics are currently in attendance near The Scotland Shop. The exact circumstances are unclear at this time but it's understood a pedestrian was stuck by a bus.

There are two ambulances, one police van and two unmarked police vehicles at the scene.

Local bus diversions have been put in place with some services impacted.

Edinburgh Travel News wrote on X: "Queensferry Street is CLOSED both ways between Melville Street and Shandwick Place following a road traffic incident."
