LACKAWANNOCK TWP., Pa. - They say there’s no use crying over spilled milk, but how about spilled onions?
One lane was restricted on Friday morning on Interstate 80 East in Mercer County after a tractor-trailer hauling bagged red onions overturned.
The crash occurred around 7:53 a.m. near mile marker 10.0 in Lackawannock Township, about six miles west of the Mercer Exit. The big rig flipped onto its side, spilling its purple cargo along the roadside.
Two people were in the truck at the time of the rollover, but neither was injured, according to officials.
The incident prompted Pennsylvania State Police to close the left eastbound lane at 8:09 a.m. for investigation and cleanup. A heavy-duty tow truck arrived to right the overturned trailer.
Traffic continued to move in the right lane,
