With a year to go before the next municipal elections, Windsor’s mayor is pursuing a tax freeze that has proven popular with voters in the past — while remaining tight-lipped about his own political future.
Asked whether he will seek re-election on Oct. 26, 2026, and a fourth term as mayor, Drew Dilkens told the Star he’s focused on the 2026 budget, which he’s asked city staff to prepare without increasing property taxes.
“I love what I do,” Dilkens said.
“There’ll be lots of time to consider campaigns and what the future looks like once we get into 2026, but I’m still working on the mandate that I was elected to deliver back in 2022. That includes looking at our budget and making sure that we are very prudent with our spending at city hall.”
