Starting Saturday, all commercial goods vehicles registered outside Delhi that do not meet BS-VI emission standards will be barred from entering the national capital. The move, directed by the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM), is part of broader efforts to curb vehicular emissions as winter pollution levels begin to spike.

A public notice issued by the Delhi Transport Department said that only BS-VI compliant commercial vehicles, along with those running on CNG, LNG or electricity, will be allowed entry from November 1. BS-IV diesel goods vehicles registered outside Delhi will be granted temporary entry permission until October 31, 2026, as part of a two-year transition period.
