Nipissing MPP Fedeli and North Bay Mayor Peter Chirico have been friends for decades. Chirico was Fedeli’s deputy mayor during the current Nipissing MPP’s two terms as North Bay Mayor (2003-2010).

At a funding announcement for the New Community and Recreation Centre on Friday, Fedeli took a question from the Nugget about his old council mate Chirico.

This, coming two days after Chirico had his pay as mayor suspended for two months by city council after a report by the Integrity Commissioner found that the North Bay Mayor contravened the Code of Conduct for using a corporate credit card to buy thousands of dollars worth of personal items. Chirico is still performing his mayoral duties and was at the Friday announcement at the Steve Omischl Complex.
