ALBANY, N.Y. (NEXSTAR) — New York State Senate Republicans want U.S. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, both Democrats representing the Empire State, to pass a spending bill that immediately opens the federal government. Members of the State Senate Republican Conference published a letter to the federal senators on October 31, pressuring them to forget political gamesmanship, whip the votes among the Democratic Caucus, and pass a clean continuing resolution.
State Senator Andrew Lanza said Schumer and Gillibrand should be ashamed of themselves for not voting yes to keep the government open. You can take a look at the letter at the bottom of this story.
The fight revolves around the CR, a spending bill to fund the government into November. Maintainin
