MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, Ohio –

Disorderly conduct: Bagley & Engle roads

A Middleburg Heights man, 53, was arrested at about 3 p.m. Oct. 18 after police caught him walking around drunk at Bagley and Engle.

Police had received a call about a vehicle possibly hitting the man. Someone saw him sitting on a curb after falling. Then he walked into a BP station on the corner.

Police and paramedics arrived. The man smelled like alcohol. His eyes were glassy and he slurred his words. He was unsteady on his feet. He refused medical treatment.

The driver of the vehicle that reportedly hit the man denied there was any crash. She said she saw him stumbling across the road and stopped to check on his welfare.

The driver said the man asked her to take him home but she said no due to his drunken state.
