CHESTER, S.C. (WBTV) - After deputies reported a “large law enforcement presence” at Chester County elementary school, school district officials scheduled a press conference to update the community.

The press conference was scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31.

Chester County deputies first announced around 12:14 p.m. that law enforcement was responding to Chester Park School Complex and that a lockdown was issued. Deputies at the time did not clarify what the response was regarding.

By 12:23 p.m., deputies posted on social media that individuals were being detained. What happened and the number of people involved was not shared by deputies at the time.

Chester County School District officials later announced their plans for a press conference to discuss the situation.
