SALEM, Ore. (KPTV) - Oregon State Police are hoping witnesses will come forward with information about a deadly crash involving a pedestrian that happened early Thursday morning in Salem.
At about 5:40 a.m., on Oct. 30, OSP received reports of a person in the roadway on northbound I-5 near the Center Street Overpass. Troopers responded and found a man dead near the side of the road.
OSP said it is believed the man may have been hit by the side mirror of an unknown type of oversized vehicle.
Surveillance video from nearby businesses show the man in the area at about 4:30 a.m., according to OSP.
The man, whose name has not yet being released, is described as white, about 6 feet 4 inches tall, weighing about 300 pounds, and wearing a purple sweatshirt and light gray sweatpants.
