JACKSON — More than 350,000 Mississippians could be without Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits starting Nov. 1, according to the Mississippi Department of Human Services. As many families prepare for that possibility, a free online tool is helping people locate food, housing and other essential services across the state.

Findhelp.org allows users to search by ZIP code for free or reduced-cost programs such as food banks, rent assistance, health care and mental health services. The platform, launched by the company Findhelp, lists hundreds of local programs throughout Mississippi and more than a million nationwide.
