It’s a first-of-its-kind undertaking to provide innovative programming and assistance to at-risk populations in Niagara, after Mainstream Community Support Services and Gateway Residential & Community Support Services merged into a single organization.
The new agency, which will undergo a rebranding and renaming, two years ago purchased Trinity United Church at 15 Pine St. S. in Thorold. It has since modernized the building, while leaving the church sanctuary virtually untouched, save for small repairs.
The agency recently started to move its offices into the church, said Margaret Beaupre, executive director of the unnamed agency.
“When we started to talk about merging the two entities, our boards decided we needed a common place,” she said.
