AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Potter County’s 4-H Program is developing a new facility to better serve its youth.

Potter County 4-H’s primary mission is to serve low-income youth, by teaching life skills and other activities to some who may be less likely to learn inside a regular classroom.

These activities include cooking, sewing and livestock production.

Casses for the 4-H program are currently held at the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Office.

A new facility with additional space would provide benefits for 4-H veterinary science programs, where demonstrations with livestock could take place, or for recreational programs like archery lessons.

County extension agent Megan Eikner says the opportunities are endless for kids involved in the 4-H program.
