LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — After closures over the course of several months this summer, Phantom Ranch and Bright Angel Campground are reopening Saturday, Nov. 1, in Grand Canyon National Park.
In addition to overnight access, the Phantom Ranch area and the lower section of the South Kaibab Trail will also reopen to day-use the same day.
Phantom Ranch is the only lodging location in the lower canyon, providing a stopover for rim-to-rim travelers and rafters on the Colorado River.
While some closures in the park remain, the reopening of Phantom Ranch and Bright Angel restores key access to the inner canyon. The Dragon Bravo Fire led to closures, and crews had to stabilize hiking trails. Ongoing infrastructure work also produced the need for closures.
