LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

For at least the past 25 years, students, teachers, and administrators from Coral Ridge Elementary School have taken a trip to the Kentucky Science Center on Halloween.

Principal Brian Davis said the tradition began as a way to address a common challenge for educators this time of year.

"The principal at Coral Ridge, Beverly Goodwin, wanted to get the kids out of the school building on Halloween because it can be a little wild for elementary-aged kids," Davis said.

In total, about 600 people made the 11-mile trip to the Science Center, where students participated in special Halloween-themed programming.

Every member of the Kentucky Science Center staff dressed up in costume to celebrate the day.
