BURLINGTON TOWNSHIP – The road to a sectional championship for the Burlington Township High School football team began Friday night.
The top-seeded Falcons avoided a scare on Halloween, rallying for 10 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to knock off upset-minded Timber Creek on Friday in the opening round of the South Jersey Group 3 tournament.
Burlington Township (10-0) will host Saturday’s Ocean City/Mainland winner in next Friday’s semifinal round.
The goal is unmistakable for the Falcons, who are seeking the program’s first sectional title since they won back-to-back crowns in 1976 and 1977.
