BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- With the uncertainty over SNAP benefits, some local businesses are stepping up to help families in need.
WIVB News 4 heard from small and large businesses that are changing their business format to help people impacted by the situation involving SNAP benefits.
El Punto Boricua, which has locations in Kenmore and Lackawanna, serves up delicious Puerto Rican cuisine. On Saturday, when SNAP benefits are set to expire, El Punto Boricua will be delivering 1,000 meals to families in need.
"The preparation is hectic; we got to be here at 4 o'clock in the morning to make it happen. There's a lot of preparation," said Omar Ramos, manager of El Punto Boricua.
