EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — Owners of an Evansville bar are rallying other businesses to help support the Tri-State Food Bank amid a potential freeze in SNAP benefit payments. What started as a post on social media to garner a handful of donations has turned into a more than $20,000 donation effort.
For Clint Hoskins, one of the owners of High Score Saloon, this situation is one that hits too close to home.
"There was a time in our lives where we were down and we relied on those things," Hoskins said. "It's just something you don't forget. It doesn't matter where you get in life. Those programs are there for me whenever I needed them and I wanted them to be there for the people that need them later in life as well."
