Fort Wayne area Sens. Liz Brown, Justin Busch and Dr. Tyler Johnson enthusiastically support redrawing Indiana’s congressional map to increase the Republican Party’s dominance in the U.S. House. Their endorsements follow months of pressure from the White House to reconfigure those boundaries ahead of the 2026 elections.

Those sponsorships, however, are startlingly premature. No information — including a first meeting — has been shared with the Indiana General Assembly since Gov. Mike Braun on Monday ordered a special session on redistricting.

“We haven’t even seen a map yet,” Sen. Travis Holdman, R-Markle, told The Journal Gazette Wednesday. “And we don’t even have a bill or a committee schedule.”
