FARGO — Valais , a four-year-old pit bull mix, has the strength of his breed but the coloring of a goat — which is how he received his name, according to Jerad Ryan, a 4 Luv of Dog Rescue volunteer.
"Valais" comes from a breed of Swiss goat called a Valais Blackneck , which is black from the head to past the shoulders and white on the hindquarters.
Valais has a black eye patch on one eye, and the rest of his face white, which runs down his chest, stomach and front legs. From his neck to tail, he's black with a small white tip at his tail.
After taking a short walk, Valais spotted a large jackrabbit across the street from 4 Luv of Dog Rescue's emergency housing building in Moorhead.
