FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) -- A man has been sentenced to six years in prison after shooting at his pregnant wife; a plea deal dropped the attempted murder charge from the initial arrest.
Michael E Ward Jr. pleaded guilty to Criminal Recklessness, a Level 5 felony. As part of his plea deal, Ward will serve 6 years in prison and have charges dropped for attempted murder and unlawful carrying of a handgun. Ward signed his plea deal on October 31.
According to court documents, the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a shooting near the area of Stophlet Avenue and College Avenue at around 8:52 a.m. on October 26.
