BROOKINGS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - A book signing in Brookings reunited fans with two beloved figures in South Dakota State Jackrabbit athletics history.
It’s normal for Brookings to be buzzing on a Jackrabbit football gameday, but when you bring in two individuals tied to the national championship-winning teams, of course, a crowd is going to form.
Tanner Castora took inspiration from over eighty conversations with former head football coach John Stiegelmeier to pen his first book, documenting the program’s transition into an FCS powerhouse.
“I started with Coach Stig,” Castora recalled. “We sat down one day in his office and started talking about his life and we did that for two years, almost every single week.”
