SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - With the government shutdown still going on and SNAP benefits up in the air right now for many people, one little library in a Sioux Falls neighborhood is looking to help with the food shortage.

The Little Free Library will be switching to the Little Free Pantry until SNAP benefits are returned.

The box in the All Saints neighborhood is located at the corner of East 18th Street and 3rd Avenue.

Molly O’Connor said the box has only been up since this summer, but when the shutdown hit, it became a question of when, not if, people in the neighborhood would need help.

“When everything happened with the government shutting down, and federal workers not being paid, SNAP benefits not renewing, we knew that we needed to shift gears here and step up to help
