TROSKY, M.N. (Dakota News Now) - A small-town Lutheran church in Minnesota said one final goodbye after a somber final service Sunday afternoon.

Perhaps the one constant in life is, ironically, change. Seasons change, people change, times change and before you know it, generations of Southwest Minnesotans have spent their Sundays under the same roof at St. John’s Lutheran Church.

"My whole family has gone here," explained church member Jeff Hellwinckel. “My grandpa actually helped build this church, so I guess it’s kind of an emotional time for me right now.”

Hellwinckel is not alone. Many members shed tears as they walked through the church’s doors, sang hymns, prayed and took communion for one last time as a congregation.
