A multi-party meeting chaired by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin in Chennai on Sunday (November 2, 2025) decided to approach the Supreme Court against the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter rolls in Tamil Nadu.

The meeting charged the exercise is anti-democratic and against the interests of the people of Tamil Nadu, as the Supreme Court is yet to deliver its verdict on the issue in the Bihar SIR case.

“The SIR is unacceptable, and the all-party meeting urges the Election Commission to abandon the exercise. It should be conducted only after removing the shortcomings. It must be carried out in a transparent manner, in accordance with the guidelines of the Supreme Court, and with adequate time after the 2026 Assembly elections in the State,” said a resolution adopt
