AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) -- Running shoes are tied tight Sunday morning in Austintown for the fire department's Axe Run 5K.

Runners will meet at the 9/11 Memorial Park to participate in Sunday's race. This is the 6th year for the event, and organizers are hoping that this year's run is the best one yet.

The event is being put on by Austintown Professional Firefighters IAFF Local #3356.

Packet pick-up will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the park. The 5K begins at 9 a.m.

This event is for all ages, whether you run, jog or walk.

Awards will be given to the top male and women contestants, as well as the top three participants in age groups.
