WATAUGA, Texas — A man suspected of stealing more than $37,000 in merchandise from Target stores in 14 cities across North Texas in the span of two months was arrested this week after a brief standoff, police say.
The arrest happened after officers were called to a Target store in the 8000 block of Denton Highway in Watauga around 5 p.m. on Halloween, where store employees had reported a man had stolen more than $1,200 worth of Lego merchandise and fled the scene, officials say.
Officers found the suspect, later identified as Winston Love, 28, at a home he'd been staying in a short time later, where he was taken into custody without incident after a brief standoff with police, according to a press release.
