Labour MPs will warn Sir Keir Starmer the party faces “annihilation” at the local elections in May without a drastic change in direction, The i Paper understands.

The Prime Minister is due to address his backbenchers in a meeting on Monday evening amid growing concerns within the Labour rank and file over his leadership of the party .
