BANGOR, Maine — A Bangor McDonald's employee was brought to the hospital after police said the employee was assaulted by a man with a knife Sunday morning.
Bangor police said officers and firefighters responded to McDonald's at 441 Main St. around 6:25 a.m. for a report that an employee had been assaulted by an unknown man with a knife.
Officers took 61-year-old Paul Bernard of Bangor into custody at the scene and brought him to the Bangor Police Department, police said.
The employee was taken by ambulance to a local hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.
Following an initial investigation, detectives charged Bernard with elevated aggravated assault, a Class A felony. He was taken to the Penobscot County Jail.
