BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - A Baton Rouge police officer is recovering after suffering minor injuries during a crash involving an 18-wheeler.
According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, the crash happened just before 7 a.m. on Saturday, November 1.
Investigators said the officer had pulled onto the shoulder of I-12 near Millerville Road and was sitting inside of a marked patrol car. That’s when the 18-wheeler struck the back of the officer’s vehicle.
According to BRPD, the driver of the 18-wheeler may have fallen asleep behind the wheel.
The injured officer was taken to a hospital to get treated.
The crash remains under investigation.
