Belleville parents didn’t let damp and dreary weather hamper traditional Halloween outings for their children donning costumes and knocking on neighbourhood doors in search of candy.
For the second time in two years, the first mini snowfall of the season blew light slushy flurries into the city Friday night similar to Halloween night in 2023 when even more precipitation coated city neighbourhoods in a thin blanket of snow.

The unusual blustery conditions were also chilly with temperatures of 1 Celsius around 6 p.m., as recorded by Environment Canada.
Many kids fared well in the wet weather given their costumes and face masks helped keep some of the damp and cold at bay.
