New York City faces one of its most consequential mayoral elections in recent memory on Tuesday.
The frontrunner is democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani, who’s the Democratic Party candidate.
The “democratic socialist” tag should be enough to make most New Yorkers run for the hills.
It’s downright scary to hear people say that “socialist” isn’t the same as “communist.”
Really? Remind me again what U.S.S.R. stood for? Oh, yeah: Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.
Not a great track record for that particular moniker. But, hey, go for it, Gen Z. It’s your revolution.
Remember when “liberal” became a dirty word? All the lefties then started calling themselves “progressives.”
Same thing with “communist” and “socialist” It’s a distinction without a difference.
Mamdani and his promises
