(WNDU) - The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are back in the top 10 after a two-month absence and the Indiana Hoosiers stayed put in the latest Associated Press Top 25 college football poll .

The Irish (6-2) moved up two spots from No. 12 to No. 10 after a surprisingly difficult win over Boston College while the Hoosiers (9-0) stayed at No. 2 after dominating Maryland . IU received 11 first-place votes in this week’s poll.

Notre Dame was last in the top 10 in Week 3, at No. 8, before a home loss to Texas A&M dropped the Irish to 0-2 and dropped them to No. 24 . While the win over Boston College wasn’t all that impressive, the Irish moved up in the poll because several other teams who were ahead of them lost.
