Passed bill authored by State Sen. Mike Porfirio aims to regulate the State Treasurer’s disbursement of public funds and increase transparency through monthly online updates by state agencies, according to the Illinois General Assembly.
In the House, 76 Democrats and 12 Republicans voted in favor of the bill, while 19 Republicans opposed it.
Meanwhile, in the Senate, 37 Democrats and 19 Republicans voted in favor of the bill.
Porfirio introduced the bill in the Illinois Senate on Jan. 17, 2025 during the 104th session.
The legislation, known as SB0090, was passed on Oct. 31, 2025 during the general assembly session 104.
