Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent suggested on Sunday that Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) could resume this week.

Bessent told CNN’s Jake Tapper on “State of the Union” on Sunday that the benefits could restart as soon as Wednesday, but that the process has to go through the courts.

“There’s a process that has to be followed. So we got to figure out what the process is,” Bessent said. “President Trump wants to make sure that people get their food benefits.”

Tapper asked him if it could be done by Wednesday.

“Could be,” Bessent responded.
